In modern industrial manufacturing, roll cores serve as crucial production tools and are widely used in various fields such as printing, plastics processing, and textiles. However, roll cores often encounter issues such as wear, corrosion, and contamination during use. These problems not only affect the lifespan of roll cores but may also adversely impact product quality. To address these issues, a new material—FEP heat shrink tubing is widely used for wrapping roll cores, especially large-diameter FEP heat-shrinkable tubing.
FEP heat shrink tubing is a high-performance heat-shrinkable material made primarily from fluorinated ethylene-propylene copolymer (FEP). It is renowned for its excellent chemical stability, electrical insulation, and temperature resistance, maintaining stable performance within a wide temperature range of -80°C to +200°C. Additionally, FEP heat shrink tubing boasts high transparency, non-stick properties, and corrosion resistance, making it highly suitable for wrapping roll cores.
Mochitek is collaborating with roll manufacturing and roll coating enterprises to customize FEP heat shrink tubing of various large sizes for coating roll cores. This heat shrink tubing provides both non-stick and thermal conductivity properties while adapting to various harsh environments.
During the roll coating process, a hot-air gun is used to heat one end of the FEP heat shrink tubing and slowly rotate it to the other end, ensuring that the tubing shrinks uniformly and tightly wraps around the roll core. The entire process takes less than 2 minutes, making it both fast and aesthetically pleasing. Due to the small shrink ratio of FEP heat-shrinkable tubing, the coated roll cores neither deform due to excessive tightness nor fall off due to looseness.
Mochitek offers FEP heat shrink tubing with shrink ratios of 1.3:1, 1.6:1, and 2:1. The default color is transparent, but custom colors are available upon request. The standard length is 1.2 meters, but it can be cut to specified lengths or provided in continuous lengths as required.
